YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE: The Wildest Tourism Events of 2025 You Already Missed!

If you blinked a little too long or were stuck doom-scrolling Instagram while sitting at your desk, chances are you missed some of the craziest, most vibrant travel events that shook the world (and several dance floors) in early 2025. Don’t worry, though. We're here to rub it in, make you laugh, and maybe inspire you to start planning your next adventure before the party’s over.

Here’s a rundown of some of the tourism madness you totally missed (and will definitely regret not attending):

1. Dubai Camel Fashion Show – January 25, 2025 (UAE)

Yes, camels. In couture. Strutting down a sandy runway in custom-made robes with more bling than a rapper’s birthday party.

Tourists flocked to the desert to see the chicest humps in the world, and some influencers are still trying to figure out how to get camel selfies without getting spit on.

Hint: you can't. It’s part of the experience.

2. Venice Carnival: February 22 – March 4, 2025

“Casanova called—he wants his drama back”

Venice’s canals were overflowing with masked revelers this year, all living their best “Eyes Wide Shut” fantasies. The theme? “In the Time of Casanova,” which basically meant everyone pretended to be 18th-century influencers. Grand balls in palazzos, gondola parades, and enough elaborate masks to supply a Scream sequel. The highlight? Watching tourists trip over cobblestones in 3-foot heels. Graceful? No. Entertaining? Absolutel.

3. Rio Carnival in Brazil (February 28 - March 4, 2025): (Brazil, obviously!)

If feathers, sequins, and non-stop samba sound like your jam, then Rio de Janeiro was the place to be from February 28 to March 4.

This year’s theme? “Legends of the Jungle” – and let’s just say the costumes were so dazzling, even parrots got jealous.

The Rio Carnival once again proved why it's dubbed "The Greatest Show on Earth." Imagine samba schools parading with elaborate floats, dancers moving to hypnotic rhythms, and a city that doesn't sleep. The energy was contagious, the costumes were dazzling, and the caipirinhas flowed like water.

Missed it? That’s like skipping Beyoncé’s world tour for a dentist appointment. Brutal.

4. Holi in India (March 13-14, 2025): A Colorful Chaos

Imagine stepping into a world where everyone's a canvas, and the preferred medium is a rainbow of powders. That's Holi for you! Celebrated on March 13 with Holika Dahan (bonfire night) and March 14 for the main event, Rangwali Holi, this festival is India's way of saying, "Let's paint the town red... and blue, green, and yellow!" Streets transformed into open-air art studios as people gleefully smeared each other with colors, danced to infectious beats, and indulged in sweet treats like gujiyas. Missed it? Start practicing your color-throwing technique for next year!

5. Goa Sunsplash Holi Dub (March 14, 2025): Reggae Meets Rainbow

Goa, India's beach paradise, decided to mix things up by blending reggae vibes with Holi hues. On March 14, the Goa Sunsplash festival introduced "Holi Dub," a one-day extravaganza where festival-goers grooved to reggae beats while being doused in vibrant colors. Picture sun, sand, and ska—all wrapped up in a technicolor embrace. It was a fusion of cultures that left everyone irie and tie-dyed.

 6. Edinburgh Wizard Fest – April 1–3, 2025 (Scotland)

Yes, it was on April Fool’s weekend. No, it wasn’t a joke.

Wizards, witches, and muggles alike descended on Edinburgh Castle to celebrate all things magical. There was wand dueling, potion-making workshops, and at least one guy who swears his broom levitated (after three ales). Even the locals got in on the fun, and trust us—it’s not easy to impress a Scotsman in a cloak.

So... What Now?

If you’re now suffering from a case of FOMO-induced foot-tapping, don’t worry—2025 isn’t over yet! Plenty more madness awaits, from Thailand’s Songkran water festival to Burning Man 2.0 (now with more AI and fewer clothes).

THE GREAT WALL OF INDIA: Discovering the Mighty Kumbhalgarh Fort

When we think of massive ancient walls, the Great Wall of China often comes to mind. But hidden in the heart of India lies a lesser-known m...
